Warming up

About two weeks ago I received an email that I passed the Beginner Level and continued to the Intermediate Level. I proud of myself for being able to get past the previous stage.

email from yabb

In this Intermediate Level, we will get direct mentoring classes online with Engineers from Gojek, Teachers from Cakap, and later there will be an Individual Mentoring Guideline session.

After one week I took the Intermediate Level, I will share what I learned and felt during the week.

What I Learned

In the technical class, I learned OOP again with the case of a story that must be done using the 4 pillars of OOP, here are also given tasks to evaluate the material that I learned.
Then, with Cakap I learned about basic tenses with the Simple Present given, here we are more active in conversation so that the material presented is more understandable.

Feeling Beginner

When I entered the Intermediate Level class with the OOP material that I had studied, I still felt very beginner compared to my friends who might have been more advanced than me. Many friends in the Intermediate Level class are active in communication, asking questions, and even project showcases. Until now, I still can’t be like them, but I’m trying to be like them.

Making Mistakes

My mistake at the beginning, I missed 1 Cakap class as a consequence I lost 300 pts. I accept the risk because it is my responsibility.
I am not optimal in doing the homework given by the facilitator because there are things I still don’t understand. Yes, it’s also my fault for not talking about what I’m worried about when I’m in class, so I can get feedback that might help me learn.

Get Advice

I am very grateful and proud to be able to join the GenerasiGIGIH program with a committee that is ready to accept stories from participants who may have shortcomings while studying.

After 1 week of studying, I contacted Ms. Mutia and told her what shortcomings I had experienced or what mistakes I had made.

There are several points that I got from the conversation:
- Don’t be shy to speak up to be a change-maker, so that people like me can talk too because maybe they are too shy to speak up
- There is still a chance to improve more than the previous day or from mistakes that have been made
- Don’t miss it again and read the guidelines carefully

Evaluate

When I realized that I was lacking. I need to improve so that it could be even better.

Then, what do I do :

Firstly, I write down what I don’t understand, what I need to learn, and what strategies I should follow to improve my quality.

After that, make an organized schedule so that I can be more disciplined, make class notifications so that I don’t miss class anymore

Last, looking for a discussion partner, so that I can exchange information in doing assignments and have friends in studying

Maybe that’s all I can share with you, hopefully, we can continue to learn and implement it in real life.

Finally, I have something to say:

It is Better to Try and Fail Than Never to Try at All.
